See You Again Next Year -- On Our 46th Play

"The Hunchback of Notredame", St Michael's 45th years of excellence in
performing art, was staged to a full house on three consecutive nights
between 19 and 21 Aug 2006. Touted to be the best ever, the proceeds
from the play had been planned to be channeled to the school
development fund, this time to repair the roof of the main building.
Three classrooms and two other rooms used for academic workshops have
to be evacuated as the area has been declared unsafe. Some RM600,000 is
needed to replace the entire school roof.

Principal Phoon Chong Chee, in commending the sponsors, benefactors,
teachers and students in making the play a resounding success, said
the school is seriously working out a plan where an evening of the
play is set aside only for old boys.
"I feel that old boys all around the country should come back to their
alma mater to experience the rich Michaelian tradition once a year.
Bring along their wives and children and show them the school. Show
them also how the present Michaelians continue to uphold the ethos and
culture St Michael's", he said.

A package, including accommodation, a round of golf and an evening
watching the school play, is on the pipeline.
Phoon, who reported work as principal in November last year replacing
Louis Rozario Doss, said the school and the OMA will discuss ways on
how this plan can materialise, possibly next year. For details, email us.

Brother U Paul Memorial

A new primary school block for St Michael’s Primaries 1 and 2, to be named Brother U Paul Memorial, is being constructed.

A special appeal is going out to Old Michaelians to raise RM3.5 million for the new 4-storey building to replace the old single storey complex that is in an extremely bad state of repair and has been declared unsafe.

Contributors who would like to name one or more classrooms in memory of a beloved family member or Lasallian educator may do so by sponsoring RM30,000.00 per classroom. All contributions received are eligible for tax exemption.

Please read the Letter of Appeal below for more information and where to send contributions.
